Activity 5: One Small Step for Man

For the second activity for week 1. The challenge for this activity was to imagine that I was Neil Armstrong and wright a poem describing what it felt to be on the moon. I really like this activity because of using the one thing that i ma good at which is using my imagination.

  1. Hi Matthew, this is Mrs Collins from Manaiakalani and I'll be commenting on blogs over term break. Well done on posting and participating in the SLJ this year. I like the poem you wrote about walking on the moon and imagining that you were Neil Armstrong. Would you REALLY like to walk on the moon - I think it might be a bit strange. Keep blogging, and commenting on others, to increase your chance of winning one of the awesome prizes and to keep up your learning over the school break!

  3. Kia Ora Matthew,

What an interesting poem you have written, Matthew. Do you think that you would want to ever go to the moon? I think I would jump at the chance to visit the moon because the landscape is so different to earth. It’s great that you enjoy using your imagination. Do you enjoy writing stories or poems in your own time?

As it is the holiday period many of the Summer Learning Journey team are currently away from work and are spending some time with their friends and family. This means that you would get many encouraging comments over this time. We want you to keep blogging and we will comment on as many of your posts as we can when everyone is back at work!

    Keep the blogging up!

    Blog ya later,

    Dani

  5. Hi Matthew,
I liked how you described the experience as amazing and the moon as soft and hard. I also liked how you said that you enjoyed this activity because it let you use your imagination. Would you want to actually go to the moon if you could?
