Kiwi Sport (Cricket)

As for 2020 LS2 has started there first kiwi sport session. For this years sport we played cricket, the skills that were learnt in this was Batting, fielding, bowling, scoring, teamwork and communication. There were 2 stations which taught people how to bat and bowl or aim. One of the stations were a collaborative station where you had to try and work together to hit the wickets and give the ball to each other at the same time. The other station was to try and hit the ball as hard as you can and accurate as you can and run back an fourth to the cone and back.

Tennis

For term 4 week 4 we had our second session for this term. We had a warm up game that exercised our legs and arms. The aim of the is to use your ears because as soon as he says ball you would have to grab the ball that is between you and your partner. After that we worked on a skill named the volley, we were given a lot of instructions about how to do this. The one thing that I like about this weeks tennis practise is that we got to hang out with my friends.

Ballet

LS2 had a surprising guest from Viliami's hearing teacher which was a ballet teacher named Chloe. We learnt all about black swan and white swan and even made a dance about it, where we had to look at our formations, and a tip that Chloe said which was, commit on the movements to get the best effect. That tip inspired me to commit on anything to improve my movements and to try my best.

Gymnastics

For Gymnastics for this week for term 2 week 3 we focused on our jumping, forward/backwards, Building strength and others. The first skill we started of with in my group was practising our jumping and backward rolls. This was the most funnest activity out of all of it because we could pouce on the trampoline to land on the mat, but we weren't allowed to do flips. After that we moved to building our strength were it had handstands lifting up our body weight. This was the most hardest one to do because everything is were you have to try and do something strong or just athletic. This was the final rotation were we had to do forward rolls and go on the high beam. ON the final rotation there was a thin low beam were we could have to roll on it (Forward Rolls). This was the most Nerve Wracking one because I have only done it and a wide beam, but as I rolled I got more confident so I wanted to do it again until I perfected it. As time goes pass it was time to finish and wait until next week to learn different things.

Tiriti o waitangi

This week Marieta, Villami, Matthew and I worked together to create a DLO of a story called "Te Tiriti o Waitangi". In other words The Treaty of Waitangi. For this task we first read the story then moved on to doing the DLO. For this DLO we did a few reading activities which were vocabulary, summaries and seeing it from both sides. For the seeing it from both sides we needed to choose a question from the learning conversation slide.

This week for kiwi sport I was learning about ki o rahi witch is a game. The reason why we were learning about this is because in the olden days it was used to take out all the stress and it is a game of peace witch the Maori made. I learnt this from a video an were rahi beat one of the gods to save his wife.

L.I: Is to learn all the skills we have learnt and put them together.
This week for kiwi sport, LS1 group B went to do boxing with our coach Pax. First we had to get into partners. after that we would want to choose who could be a number 1 or 2 between the both of us.  then we had to learn some skills that   we never learnt for our last day. once we had done that we would have to switch with the person who has the gloves and who has the noddles. Once everybody has done that then we would have to pack away the equipment and get into lines were we have even spaces to do the skills that we had learnt from the past month and put them all together. So then it was the last day of boxing and for the last day we took a picture to remind we had the best coach ever.

L.I: Is to learn how to do defence. This week LS1 group B went to kiwi sport. First We had to get into partners. After that one of our partner has to go and grab a pair of gloves, So once we had done that the other partner has to go and get a noodle.

After that The person that had gloves they would have to do some skills to the noodle that has been shown by our couch, and the skill is named guard. Guard is when you have to connect your fist together and then place them on your four head.

Next we learnt another skill named bridge, the skill bridge is when your partner outs the noodle on your shoulder well you are bending your legs and also ducking under the noodle making an U Shape. This helps you with your defence because it helps you dodge people's punch's.

L.I: Is to learn about the skills in boxing. This week LS1 group B went to kiwi sport (Boxing). First We had to put on some gloves and get a partner. After that we were learning how to do some combo's by mixing the skills that we learnt from the past 4 weeks or so. Then one of your partners had to get one noodle to hold for the person that you are with, then after that we would want to try out the combo's by hitting the noodle. This can also help with your acrasy for were you aim because it is thin and it is also a target that is smaller than a person body.

The skill that we learnt for swimming in oceans and rivers was sculling, sculling a when you kick with you legs and also stick your head out like what dogs do, but with your hands you would want to wave it side to side like your scooping an ice cream.

Swimming

L.I: Is  to learn how to swim. This week for kiwi sport we had to learn how to swim. First we would get to ask questions like who has done swimming lessen I stood   because I have done swimming lessens well before anyways. Then I had been sent to a teacher named Kamren I was the only one there in that stage. The first thing I learnt was how to enter a pool, so I had to sit on the wall and put 2 of my arms on one side then I would have to twist my body  around then hop into the pool and keep my hands on the wall so I can feel if I can't touch the bottom or not. Next we learnt how to do stream line. Stream line is when you have both of your arms together and behind your ears and kick with your feet. After that we learnt how to do a skele. Skele is when you swim with your arms but not your legs so your hands will twist and moving well your on your stomach but not using your legs.
