L.I: Is to create something that represents Matariki 

Matariki is such a special event where the 7 stars of matariki comes out. I made this picture with all my heart and that im so proud of it. The thing that I liked about this is that I had a clear picture about what my matariki art is gonna look like.

Navigation by the Stars

L.I: Is to understand how to use the Matariki stars.

Matariki is a really fascinating event where the 7 stars come out. These stars weren't only for show they were also there for navigation. These stars were used for over 100 years, these were used to know which way was west south and all that. These stars are so unique in some way of form where our ancestors used them.

Importance of Matariki

L.I: Is to understand the importance of Matariki.

Matariki is such a wonderful event where the most famous stars in Maori history comes out. These stars are named Matariki the mother and her 6 daughters Tupu-ā-nuku, Tupu-ā-rangi, Waitī, Waitā, Waipunā-ā-rangi and Ururangi. But so much people don't really know that importance about it. People might think its just to look at the stars, It actually means that its a new year for maori cultures.

Summary of Matariki.

L.I: Is to make a short description about our topic.

Matariki is just around the corner, but most people don't know what matariki is. So I created a summary that write a short description on what it is. This talks about the different name of each star including the mother. I also talked about when this magnificent event starts which happens late may, But if not it would be on early June. The thing that I liked about this task is that I got to play with my friends and that we all the same understanding about this task.  

What is Matariki?

L.I: Is to understand what Matariki is.

As Matariki is coming up I made a DLO talking about what matariki is about. Matariki is talks about that its a new year, this only when the 7 stars come out which is Mataeiki which is the mother of all the stars and the duaghters which is Tupu-ā-nuku, Tupu-ā-rangi, Waitī, Waitā, Waipunā-ā-rangi and Ururangi. During this event people harvest a eat for a nice and fresh year.

Matariki

L.I: Is to learn about Matariki. This week For inquiry we had to learn about matariki. First I had to get into a group with other people in LS2. Then we had to collaborate together to find information about the topic we are doing, also we had to try and find facts about the topic that we were watching in 3 minuets. Once we had done that we had to make a DLO about matariki and write down the facts about matariki that we had wrote down on the piece of paper. Then we wrote a little bit more information that was what is matariki.

Maori

L.I: Is to learn about the things that happen in matariki. This week LS1 went to Maori. For Maori we learned about matariki. matariki is a tridenal thing to New Zealand, matariki is about the 7 stars the the 7 stars were named Waiti,Waita,Waipunarangi,Tupuanuku,Tupuarangi,Ururangi e,Matariki, and when all the star disappear that is a sign that matariki has started and there would be a big feast.
