Activity 2: Exploring Our Roots

Kia Ora Tatou
Greetings all
Ko Whanganui-a-Tara Te Maunga
Wellington is the mountain
Ko Tamaki te awa
Tamaki is the stream
No Whakatu aotearoa
I am from Auckland
Ko T toko whanau
T is my family
Ko Matthew toku ingoa
My name is Matthew

This week for the SLJ Activity 2, I learnt how to make my own pepeha. which was interesting since I can finally learn about my self in maori. The thing that I liked about this task is that in maori I always would talk to Maori people and they would say where are you from or have you seen the Mount Wellington. Now I can finally reply back instead of smiling.
